Best Gun Company
Re: the best guns
H&K sucks for the price and is not very good. The HK416 is nothing special, they just copied the BARRETT M468 (6.5mm, piston operated M4) and same with the AK, ~40 years ago it was good but now it is crap.
Re: the best guns
well, price really shouldnt matter in just a poll for the best gun co right?

Re: the best guns
dude you are stupid AK's are the most used guns and most revolutionary gun in the world (over 100 million sold) that is just the ones sold
Re: the best guns
They are used because "developing" countries (third world) cannot afford anything better.
Re: the best guns
AK-47's are the best. it works in any enviorment while the U.S's main infantry rifles (M-4,M16) do not work in every enviroment. also the m16,m-4's and the m249s come in 5.56 rounds which suck compared to the AK's 7.62 round which kills. The company that makes AK's also makes the most used sniper. The SVD Dragunov, and the RPK........ This is the best and most revolutionary gun company in the world

It doesn't mean they don't. Such insignificant opinions are meaningless unless you have a reason to back them up. Jon is one of the only people actually backing his opinions with undisputed facts. The AK-47 is the most revolutionary, prominent, and widely used rifle in the world, therefore he believes it is the best. posting something like "doesnt mean they like the guns" does not spur discussion at all, which is the point of the forums and this particular thread.

Dragunov SVD is actually not part of the AK family, although outer appearances look extremely alike due to the wooden stock and foregrip. Pretty damn sure its not the most used sniper rifle out there. RPK, same thing, don't think its as common as most people think. Reason why most people probably think so is because come countries just hack around the outside of the gun to make it look like a dragunov, and with the RPK, just stick a drum mag in an AK and you basically have the same thing, although there are some minor differences that make the RPK a better performer for heavy shooting.
Now, AK, the best? Don't think so, no single gun can be called the best considering different situations calling for different guns.
Revolutionary? You bet your fuckin ass. Kalashinkov designed a gun that hit the golden standard for arming an army. Cheap to make, easy to make, and reliable. Back in the Cold War days USSR was fucking handing out AKs left n right, especially in proxy wars like the Korean war, Vietnam, to all the communist countries. As if that didn't fill things up, Kalashinkov actually never got a patent for his design in the AK, and the USSR gave up AK tech designs to communist allies during the time. So we got other countries pumpin shit out as clones like China, Romania, and Yugoslavia. AKs were sold around the world to anyone who had basically change. (AKs can be bought for 50$ in Africa, thats MODERN DAY). The guns reliability only added to its popularity. M4, G36, SCAR, what the fuck ever may look tacitikool, but 50 years later they will still remember the AK.
Side note, its pointless to argue the best gun company if you are going to talk about individual guns. The AK has multiple companies making it, even the M4 has buttloads of companies making it, not just Colt. Theres even an m4 company in our state of WA. Look up Knights Armament Co., ArmaLite, Panther Arms, Olympic Arms(WA), and I think I might be missing a couple.

Re: the best guns
yeah jon change it to favorite company cause as u may have noticed no one has bothered to pick a company on ure poll which is a first for this forum
Re: the best guns
the company that makes the AK is also the company that makess the SVD Dragonav and i looked it up and is the most used and sold sniper on the market because it is so cheap
Re: the best guns
And also Izhevsk Mechanical Works have sold over 100,000,000 Ak's alone not including the varients or misc weapons they have made. The Ak-47 has caused and ended wars. This gun has seen the most action. Just about every country including the U.S.A has these guns. Honestly when i join the armed forces i would rather have a Ak over the M-4 because there is more ammo and the Ak round is a 7.62 round not a 5.56 NATO round. Ak's can also go though more type of body armor that the m-4 can. There is no doubt in my mind the the Izhevsk Mechanical Works is the best gun company on this earth. Sure there are better guns then the AK's. But the Ak has seen just about every conflict from 1949 on. no other company can say that.
Re: the best guns
Post a link to where you "looked it up". Also, The AK round isn't very good. It was designed a long time ago when people wanted the biggest bullet possible, the AK round does not go as far as accurately compared to a 5.56mm round. Also, the new AK74's are better than the AK47, no denying it. They are also made with a 5.45mm round (or something like that) so obviously the 7.62mm round is no more, unless you count the .308, which is good , just my 2 cents.

Link?
Just because they are made in the same company does not mean they are in the same family. Fabrique Nationale makes the P90, does that mean its in the same family as the SCAR? No. Two completely different guns.
Dragunov SVD's are internally different from the AK, but some people just take the AK and hack it up to look like a Dragunov SVD, so that it actually is an AK.... That looks like an Dragunov..
AK has no definitive brand, only the country they come from. Go have a talk with any AK enthusiast, you probably won't hear utter about a brand name, just countries.
Look, I googled AK 47, looked up an AK enthusiast site. www.ak-47.net. Plain and simple, lots of AK lovers. Look at the info page on the different types of AK
http://www.ak-47.net/ak47/index.php
Look at all the different companies that make the AK. I haven't really looked at the individual links, but I'm pretty sure that they all look alike. They are divided by the country they're made in.
EDIT: League, they started shifting in bullet round size fir the AK. They weren't going for the biggest round in the gun anymore.
That and the 5.56 seems extremely shifty. The problem with the 5.56 is that it doesn't do what it was designed to do, break. The caliber is waay tiny, its supposed to slow down immensely once in the body, and breaking into pieces that tumble and tears your body up on the inside. It doesn't do that. But I do hear they've improved it some time ago with a revision of quality control and such of the people who manufacture the bullets.

Re: the best guns
I heard from an arms expert that is was the concept of more well placed rounds vs. bigger, more suppressive rounds. And AK mags suck (just HAD to say it, entire reason I got rid of my SLR).
Re: the best guns
How do they suck, theyre just mags.
And I have no idea what you are trying to say with the first sentence.

Re: the best guns
The mags are very bulky and too curved, also the switch behind the mag is not very efficient compared to the AR style mag release. And what I meant in the first sentence is this:
new concept (5.56)= more rounds accurately placed on target
old concept (7.62)= bigger rounds shot less, but only when you are COMPLETELY sure it will hit (or get close if it is a miss)
Is this a bit more clear?

Re: the best guns
Still not quite sure what you're trying to say. Calibers doesn't make or break the accuracy.... Well... It does but its like....
M14 vs M16.
7.62 is more accurate in that gun.
M14 vs M16.
7.62 is more accurate in that gun.
