Other OPs planning

So anyone else want to get some people together to see if we can go and make it to some of the other OPs, I know that Battlesim has been making some modern events like Total War, I know a shit load of people are going to NATC's Junkyard Wars this summer.

Anyone have any OPs they want to go to and try to get a group together?

Lion Claws 6 had over 700 people that paid over $200 to get in, I believe.

ya, Lions Claws is the probably the best of the best. But 200 +transportation+everything else= fuck that shit. The closest of their branch OPs are in SoCal I think, getting across borders with airsoft guns is not something I would care for.

lol the borders within the usa arent that well protected plus its not illegal or hard to transport a gun, just have it in a case with a orange tip and youll be good

lol yeah bs they are...airsofting is shooting fucking god damn plastic bbs...its great fun and all but for ppl who have lives its not even close to being worth it.

It is not hard to earn $200 in a year for one of the funnest thing to do, you kind of have to go or know someone who went there. It is the BEST game of the year. The only one bigger is in Sweden, Begat 6 (spelling?) and people from all over the WORLD go. People from Sweden go to Battlesim's RECONDO and other WWII & Vietnam games because they are some of the greatest ever because of such realism and dedication. I find Battlesim to host some of the BEST games ever.

Me and a PMC were the ONLY ones out of hundreds with armor on and we were in firefights for almost the entire time, the field is huge yaknow.

Firefights composed of little white bbs whizzing around. I can carry heavy shit on me too, what does that prove? I have nothing else better to do.

Well i think we should definitely steer clear of any BattleSim ops...they're pretty much the guys that never quite made it out of NAM' (not literally) and wont let you play if your boots don't fit with the era of gun being used. its ridiculous, they pretend that airsoft guns have the same factors (distance, rpm, accuracy) as real guns did, so they think that its more realistic or fair if the guns are limited to what scenario they are doing (Vietnam, WWII, WWI, The Trojan War [lolz]) fuck that...

butttt.....we should look into some of the events that go on at the paintball field in monroe (i cant think of the name right now)

or.....we could combine with the sno mercs, huron, and PM to host our own event there.

What are you talking about? Vietnam is probably the best because the REAL engagements were about the same ranges as airsoft 1/2 the time, the gear is a LOT more affordable, and it is all around fun to do. The only restrictions for weapons in Vietnam games are no P90's, G36's, etc. You can use an AK74, M16, or M4, but for WWII you need to wrap your gun in burlap and the only non-period guns they allow are M14's, but professional photographers are usually there and take pictures so some guy with duel P90's would be out of place. Are you saying reenactors are dumb for using guns of people they are reenacting as? They do NOT pretend that airsoft guns have the same factors as real guns, that doesn't even make sense. They use specific guns for specific time periods for ACCURACY, not for the guns mechanical workings, that is ridiculous. Your gear must be period correct because they didn't have fucking molle plate carriers in 1944 or 1960's, and the people stuck in the "NAM" have fun reenacting Vietnam battles, and several are Vietnam veterans. Have you even done a game with them? What are you basing this on?

I think its totally fine if we go to to their modern OPs, but its too much hassle trying to fit in with their reenactment ones..

They only want the best there, not some kid with an ECHO1 G36C and an improper BDU (BDU pants and a camo T-shirt, etc), do you get what I am saying? You need a bit of learning in the history books before you do WWII or Vietnam. (they do not do WWI Cartar ).

dont worry about it, if they do good for them. We just dont want to spend as much money for the same kind of fun. We let anyone who just wants a good time airsofting. No need to learn the nuances of the camo, guns, and lingo of random foreign countries. And no need to try to reenact whatever, just airsoft.

I saw what they wanted at one of the OPs... Try to learn a couple german phrases and wear like... 40s clothes or whatever on the campsite...

...dude recondo got rained out last year, not exactly what i would define as the number one game of the year. and as far as their ops go, i think its just a little too extreme, i mean, when you're shooting little white bb's at eachother, its should be fun, not serious. i think its absolutely ridiculous to make all these specifications and rules for realism. i mean why don't you actually join the military, or get in the battle reenactment business or something.

oh, and cameron, every dude i have ever made that does battle sim events have been total douche-bags...calling other people noobs, and complaining about petty rules like sealed eye protection and stuff. im not saying that realism isn't a cool thing, but when it comes to airsoft its out of the question. we're here to have fun, not complain and argue.

Full seal eye pro IS a big deal, I know 2 people wearing shooting glasses that got shot in the corner of the eye and injured them (not severely). It didn't get rained out very much at all... The extreme games ARE fun, isn't one of the overall goals to be somewhat like the military? There aren't many restrictions at all, it is very simple and makes COMPLETE sense. Realism in airsoft just is. How many Battlesim people have you met? 1? 2?
