WHAT YOU THINK?
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
Last time I heard, Pinnacle's Dragon Skin Armor was being tested again. Don't get your hopes up though, it's never going to be adopted. They already made it so that if you're caught wearing it, you lose your health benefits. Did you hear the Army wanted the Pinnacle company to send them the vests so they could "test" them without the Pinnacle people there watching? Sounds kinda suspicious to me. I love how they say it's not as good as interceptor, when it can block a friggin frag grenade at point blank range. Apprently the down side to it is that in the hot weather conditions the armors adhesive to keep the disks in place wears off and they move around.

yeah it is a rate my airsoft gun maybe itll get changed to rate my gun...and honestly who cares about nato rounds...the point is aks are all over the middle east and if u read up on it u can modify ure ACR so that it can accept ak clips AKA much easier time finding ammo if u run out.
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
Looks like the Army has banned it, end of story. The Marine Corps and the Navy have a policy "no commercially purchased protective gear". Although "Like the Navy, the Marine Corps allows commanders to approve the use of commercially purchased protective gear under certain circumstances. Commanders are offered flexibility to make tactical decisions on the use and wear of approved Body Armor based on enemy threat, environmental conditions and assigned tactical missions."

Has Dragon Skin been fielded? I thought it was still in its testing phase
well yeah but so waht...i mean the standerd for the ACR is 5.62 or w/e but its just a nice thing to be able to modify it to take other sizes. especially when ure life depends on that gun

Also AK rounds do not go as far as 5.56 rounds, it is good for CQB if you have a suppressor on. Dragonskin is too expensive to use. Why get rid of hard armor plates? It works fine.
have u ever ran around in the desert with full combat gear on? neither have i but im sure the guys who have dont enjoy their PLATED body armor as much as you might think
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
The plates themselves weigh like 4 lbs each dont they? Plus you got that heavy kevlar vest with optional kneck, groin and arm guards.

Almost NOBODY runs out of ammo, and if you did would you take the few minutes during a firefight to change the lower receiver and look for AK mags on the enemies dead bodies and find ones that don't have sand and crap in it? Good luck. People share mags with the people around them so you aren't really going to run out. Also the Dirka Dirka jihad mofo's only have like 2 mags and just spray & pray and run out.
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
I used to airsoft with real plates in my vest for exercise, it is not that bad if it is a good vest. I know SEVERAL PMC's that have used both armors and prefer regular plates. I was not in the desert but it was over 100 degrees out and I was somewhat fine, ended up selling the plates though. I know a "tester" of the dragon skin, 1st sergeant Swift and he said it was HEAVY! And he is really used to using real PC's.

lol dont forget they generally have a backpack and a bnuch of other shit...but yeah it sounds like maybe its a armor for special occasions
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
It would be good for CQC, the porcelain like hard armor plates shatter with too much force, at mid-long range it matters not though.

HAHAHA exactly my man exactly
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
My friend has done 3 combat tours in Afg. and 2 in Iraq and has only shot 17 times in combat. It is like this for ~80% of infantry in the middle east, they usually just get dropped in by helo, get on-line, wait 10 minutes, and get the order to go back. If you are going into a firefight you would even THINK you would run out of ammo, you would call for heavy reinforcements/armor/air support. Infantry doesn't shoot THAT much, it isn't COD4.

not shit it aint cod 4 lol...just cause ure friend has done a bunch of tours doesnt mean a whole lot...depends on waht he does and such...im talking more about rangers and marines and such that do get in intense fire fights
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
Like those Special Forces guys that got their chinook shot down and surrounded. Taking RPG and small arms fire. They were running out of ammo and a majority of the squads guns jammed. I remember one of the soldiers tried to use a cleaning rod to pop the round out but the rod snapped off in the barrell. He ended up running from cover across open ground to find a working gun. Think he went through 2 or 3 M4's before he gave up.
I tried to find the story, but I can't. I'll post it if I can.

Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
Its pretty uncommon for infantry to run out of ammo. You can even look at recorded battles for evidence, like Black Hawk Down. The Rangers there were in a balls out firefight and they didn't start running out of ammunition until nightfall, around 6 to 8 hours later. Granted they packed more ammunition for that mission than most infantry, but also take into account that most infantry will never see a firefight of that scale, or expend the amount of ammunition they did.

He was an Airborne Ranger and his name is Warren from Battlesim and LOTS of other local high-end games.

Now those Rangers are using H&K 416's.

Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
well ok whatever the main point is that it doesnt hurt at all to be able to change it into a 7.62...m16 and m4s are still near a 1000 and there hella old...so like 500 more isnt that much...i mean at least give the guys who are fighting a hella good weapon
Re: BUSHMASTER ACR!!!
oh hey check it heres waht that article said
additions that raise the price for each M4 package to about $1,300...ha what a price for a shitty gun that is not ambidexterous jams far to often, and is at least 40 years old...hmmmm cant wait to rely on one of those.
